Bagat district is located 30 km southeast of Urgench, 24 km west of Khazarasp. The area of the district is 443 sq. km. The population as of 2021 is 169.5 thousand people, the number of households is 29,541. Bagat district is considered one of the industrial and industrial in the Khorezm region. In the district, the main activity is agriculture. Agriculture and tourism occupy a special place in the economic life of the district. Agricultural crops such as grapes, cotton, wheat, rice, and corn are mainly grown here. Self-governing bodies of citizens are assemblies of citizens of settlements, kishlaks and auls, as well as mahallas of cities, settlements, kishlaks and auls (hereinafter referred to as citizens' assemblies). As of 2021, the Bagat district includes 43 Mahalla Citizens' Assemblies (MCAs) (Department of Economy of the Khorezm Region).
