Meet Natalya Chunina - one of the winners of the competition "Negative Consequences of the Environmental Disaster in the Aral Sea Region" in the category "Nature View: Best Photography." His picture depicting a dead bird in the expanse of the Aralkum salt marshes astonished the jury and they awarded him an honorary award.
"It was a very sad picture, and I wanted to take it and show the real consequences of the environmental disaster in order to prevent such sad situations in the future. The purpose of my work is to attract the attention of many people and influential organizations who can contribute to the restoration of the region," says our hero.
As part of our project aimed at developing rural areas with an emphasis on environmental sustainability and gender equality, we organized the competition "Negative Consequences of the Environmental Disaster in the Aral Sea Region" and the competition of young engineers in agriculture and water management. The award ceremony was held as part of the project's annual meeting, which summed up the results of 2024.
