The Takyrkol SSG includes Darbent, the village of Shorkol, Shagalkupir, Kazak aul, Kalmen aul, Dosymbet aul, Sagyr aul, Kuulykol, and Kalli zhagys. The SSG is home to 1,455 families in 1,342 households. The population of the Darbent SSG is 358 people. There are no public schools or kindergartens in the SSG, but there is one private kindergarten. There is a small bazaar in the mahalla. Several households are engaged in beekeeping.
