Information about the communities

The SSG "Saraikol" was organized on August 13, 2013. Its total area is 5575 hectares. The SSG includes 10 settlements: "Bozkhauli", "Baynagoy", "Azatlyk", "Shegezhap", "Saraikol", "Dosluk", "Gozelshege", "Fillanoy", "Erkindaulet", "Sarykhan" (note: the SSG "Keneges" also has a village of the same name "Bozkhauli"). The territory of the SSG borders on the SSG "Zhana Zhap" and "Keneges" on one side, on the other side, on the road Khodjeyli - Kunyaurgench and the shirkat farm Khamza of the Khodjeyli district. The SSG "Saraikol" has a long border with the Republic of Turkmenistan (16.8 km). In 1985-1990, the first EKOS desalination plant with a 50-meter water tower was installed in the Saraikol SSG. At that time, water could flow by gravity from EKOS to the farm (4 km) and even to the school (7 km). In 1997, the population of the SSG doubled. In 1998, they began to use the "zher" taps (pumping chairs) installed during the Soviet era. Since 2018, water has stopped flowing to household plots (tomorka), which previously came from the discharges of the state district power plant. It is expected that in 2023, a pump will be installed in the Saraikol SSG under the State Program. In 2019, one desalination plant without a tower was built from state budget funds and a foundation for a second one was installed. In 2021, another desalination plant was installed in the village of Fillanoy. According to the participants, the increase in the area of farmers for growing rice led to the population of Saraikol losing the opportunity to grow agricultural products on their plots. This was also adversely affected by the introduction of a limit on irrigation water.
