Bukhara district is located in the north-eastern part of Bukhara region. The district was founded on September 29, 1926. The district borders on Vobkent and Romitan districts of the region in the north, Jondor district in the west, Kogon district in the east, Karovulbazar district in the southeast and Kyzyltepa district of Navoi region.
Bukhara district is an administrative unit in the Bukhara region of Uzbekistan. The district was formed in the 1930s. On September 15, 1959, Galaasiysky district was annexed to Bukhara district. The area of Bukhara district is 1.32 thousand km². The district includes the City of district subordination - Galaasiysky. 6 urban-type settlements: Arabkhona, Dekhcha, Podshoyi, Rabotak, Urta Novmetan, Khumini Bolo. 14 rural gatherings of citizens: Bagikalan, Istikbol, Kavalya Mahmud, Kunzhikala, Kuchkumar, Losha, Rabatkalmok, Sakhovat, Sohibkor, Sufikorgar, Shakhoncha, Shergiron, Yurinbolo, Yangi Turmush.
