Karmana District is a district in Navoi Region. It was founded on September 29, 1926. It is located on the lower reaches of the Zeravshan River. Since 1962, it has been called Navoi District. In 1980, Navbahor District separated from Navoi District. It was reunited in 1988. Since 1992, it has been a separate district. In 1999, the territory of the city of Karmana was included in the city of Navoi (as Karmana District). In December 2003, the name of Navoi District was changed to Karmana District, and the city of Karmana was determined to be the district center. The district borders on Navbahor and Konimekh Districts in the north, Kyzyltepa District in the west, and Samarkand Region in the east and south. The territory of the Karmana District surrounds the city of Navoi from all sides. In the district there is 1 city (Karmana), 1 town (Malirabot), 6 rural communities (Dormon, Jaloir, Narpay, Uirot, Yangiarik, Hazora).
